I saw this on Pinterest and had to check it out. Looks like a great blog and great info for raising healthy, happy kids.

Coming back SOON!

I've been off this blog for well over a year now, and I just recently had the urge to return.

There's SO much to share! It will take me forever to get my thoughts together to post, but I'm looking forward to it.

See ya soon!

THANK YOU G&G!

So I'm aware that I haven't posted in 5 months, but now's a great time to start. Crew and Carrington will be THREE tomorrow! I can't believe it! Seems like yesterday they were born. Ryan's parents (Grandmommy and Grandaddy) sent birthday presents this week, and we recorded their reaction for them to see. (Please excuse the annoying voice in the background). This is for the grandparents!

Back in business!!

I think I've re-entered the blog world...I think.  We'll see how this goes.  You know when you get behind in blogging, the whole idea of going back and trying to remember everything in the world that's happened during that time is very daunting.  SO, I'm just going to pick up with what we've been up to lately, and go from there.

Got together with great friends (old small group buddies) a couple of weekends ago at the Hill's and had good food, fellowship, and an Easter egg hunt.  C&C acted like they knew just what to do.  It was a lot of fun and long overdue for spending time with all our friends.

Hope everyone is doing well! We have had a busy start to a new year, and I've put blogging on the back burner.  It's been good, though.  I suppose I'll catch up sometime soon!  Things are great, and God has been showing us some pretty amazing things over the past few months.  We have been walking through a season that has been hard and trying and yet happy and fulfilling all at the same time.
Hard to explain, but so is HIS goodness & grace.=)

Be back soon...

Canton Christmas!

We met Shelby, Bella, and Kyle in Canton one Saturday night in December to see the lights.  We had so much fun despite the fact that it was terribly cold.  We rode some of the rides, walked around, and had some hot chocolate.  C&C were fascinated with the horses and carriages.  Carrington LOVES horses or "ho-seys" as she calls them.=)

We had a wonderful time, and C&C literally CRIED for Bella the whole way home, and she was the first person they asked about Sunday morning.=)

More Canton...

*Snow Day!*

We had a little snowfall on December 11th, and we were stuck at school all morning. Ryan ended up keeping the kids home because we knew if our school closed then so would C&C's. So, he bundled them up, took them outside, and I don't know if it was too cold, too much clothing, or just plain weird to see white stuff, but they weren't huge fans. They wanted back inside pretty quickly. Oh well. It was fun to look at for a little while.

When I got home, Ryan went outside to do something, and busted it in our driveway. Poor guy. I couldn't help but laugh--he doesn't take himself too seriously sometimes, so he was okay with it.=)

I will remember the snow, but I will also remember the next day, December 12th, as the day we said SO LONG to the pacis! We were out for school due to the ice that was left on the roads, and I just went for it. When naptime rolled around, I didn't give them their pacis (they called them "facis"). Carrington cried a little and asked about it several times, but I told her it went BYE BYE. She didn't like that answer. I told them good night, and luckily she had Crew to distract her because she forgot about it. Within 5 minutes of me leaving the room, they were jumping in the bed, and I could hear all their animals flying out, banging on the wall, singing, etc. etc. It was a little crazy in there, but I let them do their thing and 30 minutes later, they're asleep with NO PACI. I wasn't brave enough just yet to throw away the remaining 6 that we had left.

That night, they both asked about it at bedtime, but I told them the same...they went BYE BYE. This continued on for a few nights with her mostly asking about it, but pretty soon, it was a thing of the past. On night #2, I took all 6 pacis and dumped them. It felt good and a little sad, too. Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see those little things go, but it also meant that my babies are growing up and moving on.

No mention of pacis in about a week...until this Sunday on the way to church. She was singing (really LOUD), and out of the blue, she stops and says, "WHERE'S FACI??" (Sometimes she does this in a teasing way--knowing what the answer is going to be.) Without missing a beat, Crew sits up in his car seat, looks over at her (as much as his neck can bend), and says "Faci went BYE BYE." Then he sat back. HA! I guess he TOLD HER! These two are too much.

"Snowman...Night, Night!"

We got an inflatable snowman for our yard this year--totally for the kids, not for the decor.=) It was a great investment. Every afternoon, we were in the yard hugging the snowmen family, singing carols with them, and usually FREEZING. When it was time to go in each day, we'd have to sneak over and unplug the snowmen and tell C&C that they were going "night night" in order to get them to go inside. It was crazy. At first, they were not buying it. But after a couple of days, Ryan would pull the plug, they would start to deflate, and C&C would yell "Snowmannnn, niiiiiggghhhtt, niiiigghttt!!!!" Then they'd march right into the house.

Lucky for us, when it's time to say goodbye to something and they aren't ready to be finished yet, all we have to say is "____ is going night night", and they say BYE and move on. (I know this stage will not last forever, so we are going to take advantage of it while we can!!)

"Wanna be friends forever?"

I was cooking lunch yesterday, and Ryan yelled for me to get the camera fast.  I could hear C&C laughing, so I ran into the living room with the camera, and there they were hugging each other.  Ryan and I got so tickled.  Everywhere Carrington would go, Crew would follow and try to hug her.  The minute he left her alone, she followed him to try and hug him.  It was hilarious.

Reason #1283 that I am proud to have twins? Built-in best friend=)
